Constantine Yankoglu was Patricia Heaton’s first husband. Their marriage lasted from 1984 to 1987, during her early acting years and before the television career that made her widely known.
The marriage record and chronology
The New York City Marriage Index, published by Reclaim The Records from City Clerk data, pairs Patricia H Heaton with Constantine N Yankoglu in a 1984 Manhattan marriage-license entry. The index is a record of a licence filing, not the wedding certificate, so it does not establish the day or location of their ceremony.
The established reference work Contemporary Theatre, Film and Television, reproduced by Encyclopedia.com, records Heaton’s first marriage in 1984 and divorce in 1987, although it leaves that husband unnamed. Woman’s World also names Yankoglu and gives those years. Read together, these sources support the relationship and its broad chronology without supplying an exact wedding day.
The timing places the marriage well before Everybody Loves Raymond, which the reference biography records as beginning in 1996. Yankoglu’s connection to Heaton belongs to that earlier period of her life, rather than the family story surrounding her later sitcom success.
How Heaton described the relationship
In an A&E Biography recording available in a third-party upload of the programme, the narrator describes Heaton falling in love with a young actor from drama class and marrying him. In the passage beginning around 2:05, Heaton discusses incompatibility, says the marriage lasted three years and recalls the sense of failure she felt after the divorce.
A 2020 report by Lou Haviland dates that Biography appearance to 2003 and reproduces the account. The recording gives Heaton’s perspective on the marriage; it does not name her first husband or establish a formal legal ground for the divorce.
The Charles Yankoglu film credit
The American Film Institute Catalog lists Charles Yankoglu as a New Jersey fan in the 1988 film Eight Men Out. Its person record contains that one feature-film title.
IMDb’s Charles Yankoglu biography supplies the link between the names: its indexed text gives Constantine Niko Yankoglu as his birth name and lists Patricia Heaton as his former spouse from 1984 to 1987. AFI independently supports the credited role, but not this biographical identification. The evidence therefore supports an IMDb-linked screen appearance, without turning one credit into an extensive acting career.
After the marriage
Heaton later married actor and producer David Hunt in 1990, according to the reference biography. Hunt and Yankoglu are different people, and information about her later family should not be transferred to her first husband.
Reliable public material does not provide a sufficiently documented account of Yankoglu’s later occupation, wealth or present life.
